I just realized I haven’t eaten a donut since I went vegan a little over 5 months ago! This is definitely a huge feat considering my office has free donut day – EVERY FRIDAY! However, seeing as how today is National Donut Day, I feel like it’s time to break the donut fast.
Never heard of National Donut Day before? Me neither! Turns out, this is a 76-year-old tradition started by the Salvation Army to honor World War I volunteers. Only seems right to grab a vegan donut to commemorate!
But where can I find a vegan donut? Luckily for me there is pretty nifty shop down the street called Donut Friend that has vegan options. If that wasn’t awesome enough for you, they also name all of their donuts after cool bands. Nutellavision anyone?
